To perform at our best, we need to be in tip top physical and mental health. For this, we need self-care. Just like the car that needs regular servicing, or a garden that needs watering, we need to service, water and rest our souls.
When was the last time you gave yourself a real break? Time when the body totally relaxed, and you disconnected from daily worries and concerns to be able to simply enjoy the space and time to appreciate the gift of life?
This week is a reminder that resting and rejuvenating mind and body is even more important when times are tough. The rest can be as simple as a day in the garden, on the beach or in the mountains. Rejuvenation can be as easy as sitting around the table with friends and family, or as complex as mastering a new skill such as abseiling, rock climbing or crochet.
As we rush towards the end of the year and anxieties about pressing deadlines, missed targets or cashflow increase, it’s important to plan recovery time as well.
