Over the years many eco-friendly small enterprises have grown into successful businesses that are making a profit while saving the environment.

Each day, South Africa disposes of enough waste to fill an entire football field — one that’s ten meters deep. Around 90% of the waste generated ends up in landfills, while just 10% is recovered for recycling. That means up to 17 billion rand of resources are lost each year.

As South Africa works towards a greener and more circular economy, inspiring innovation at the grassroots level is essential to help close the loop on waste.
